Barite

Barite is a great stone for dream recall, astral travel, shamanic journeying and communication of intuitive visions.  If used within rituals or shamanic rites for which anonymity is required it will confer this and will also guide you back safely.

It will enhance relationships on all levels and is of great assistance for those who are finding it difficult to be your own person.  Although it sets you free from those who wish to run your life, it inspires loyalty to others when this is in your best interests. Barite is said to benefit; memory, motivation, communication and sharpens mental focus.  It will clear old emotional patterns and repressed (blocked) emotions bringing calm and a sense of centeredness.

It has good grounding properties in matters of money and finances and can assist those who have polarized beliefs about money (there is never enough or you have run up too much debt).

Barite roses, which sometimes have a white, red or brown tint to them, are considered “desert roses” and in Native American cultures are believed to be gifts from those who have passed into the spirit world, returning at night to carve out the rose as a gift of remembrance.

Basalt

Basalt is a dark fine grained volcanic rock that is formed from molten lava typically composed largely of plagioclase with pyroxene and olivine.  It is strongly magnetic and ideal for work on the body’s meridians.  It is supportive for those working through challenges and protective against negativity and reflects other projected negativity back to source so they can deal with the root of the issue.  It encourages compassionate detachment and supportive in times of intense change. Beryl

Beryl stones represent a group of minerals which include; aquamarine, emerald, golden or yellow beryl, heliodor and Morganite, and many more.

Beryl assists its possessor in learning how to filter out distractions and unnecessary stimulation. Good for relieving stress, calming the mind.

Chakra: Beryl will work with each chakra centre with the associated colour of this crystal.

Folk Remedies:

Beryl has been used for centuries to help stomach, intestines, ulcers, nausea and eating disorders. It is said to be beneficial for the mental body for exhaustion, depression and stimulates the mind, nervous system, spine and bones. Golden Beryl had the properties of Beryl as well as; it is said that the message of this stone is that there is no obstacle in any circumstance that confidence and conviction cannot resolve.  It is said to be a seer’s stone used for ritual and magic.  It promotes purity of being, teaches initiative and stimulates the will to succeed.

Biotite

Biotite is a relatively common form of mica, named in honour Jean Baptiste Biot (1774 – 1862), a French physicist, mathematician, and astronomer who researched the mica minerals for their optical properties. 

Biotite has been also called the ‘stone of life’ and has been used in diagnosing disorders associated with disorganised cellular patterns.  It assists in seeing things with true objectivity in one’s life to see how actions have affect on things in the future. 

It is said to assist in mental organisation of information in the mind and makes an excellent stone for the office as it stimulates systematic and methodical approaches.  Barite is also said to increase visions and enhance higher connections from other realms, past lives and civilisations.  It is also a beneficial tool for psychic development aiding in; visualisation, clairvoyance, and seeing the truth in difficult situations.

Like all mica’s it is good for self development dealing with each layer at a time to reach the core beliefs and values aligning to ones soul purpose and only  working as far as the  person is ready to and therefore feels gentle and supportive.

Bismuth

Note: that Bismuth has to be extracted and melted by man in order to form crystals the mineral itself forms these crystals naturally once the molten metal cools.

Bismuth is a (element 83 in the periodic table) heavy, brittle silver-white crystalline that transforms with tinges of pink to red. It naturally occurs with an iridescent oxide tarnish that reflects the full spectrum of colours including; blue, green and yellow.  Bismuth is typically laboratory grown where Bismuth is melted and a rod is placed in a molten metal and pulled up slowly which allows crystals to form as it cools, forming geometrically intricate hopper crystals and as it cools it solidifies.

It is ideal for ease of movement between the physical and spiritual realms.  It facilitates a connection to all that is and tapping into universal wisdom. Aiding in transformation and can release feelings of isolation both spiritually and emotionally.  If used for personal development it can be used in goal setting, and achieving goals especially, team work and togetherness, and visualisation.

Bloodstone

Bloodstone is believed to have mystical properties; controlling weather, banishing evil/negativity, and directing spiritual energies. It is said to bring a calm, tranquil atmosphere that is grounding or revitalize insufficient energy. Bloodstone increases intuition, creativity, shields from undesirable influences, stimulates dreaming, teaches us courage, aids decision making, and reduces irritability and aggression.

It is a very strong healing and protective stone and has sometimes been called “stone of courage”.  It is highly powerful for centring and grounding, it is associated with honesty and integrity and is useful in removing obstacles in life. A classic stone for wealth, it attracts abundance and good luck.

This crystal is one of the most recommended stones for blood and circulation issues. Bloodstone is said to be an immune stimulator and energy cleanser. It is believed to neutralize toxins, helpful with menstrual cramps, anaemia, blood clots, haemorrhoids, birthing/reproductive issues and imbalance, cleansing heart, blood circulation, marrow, thymus and lungs. Helps purify toxic blood and detoxify the kidneys, liver, and spleen. It can be placed in a bowl of water or in bath water to ensure peaceful sleep and protects against nightmares. This is a good stone for pregnant women.

Feng Shui:

Bloodstone is used primarily anywhere to rid the space of negative energy. Used in the East direction to honour our ancestors, in the Southeast for abundance and in the Southwest for relationships and love (use a pair of stones in this direction).

Bloodstone is quartz with flecks of red and or yellow Jasper.

The “martyr stone” aptly named, due to the legend of this stone being at the foot of the cross and stained by the drops of blood from Jesus.

In ancient times it was also called “audible oracle” where it was said to give sounds as a means of guidance.

Boji Stones®

(Iron-magnetite concretion)

Solid round, grey-brown discs with high iron, they may appear in other forms also such as oval shapes.  The stones are characterised by smooth pattern of crystallisation or larger uneven crystallisation patters; the smoother referred to as female and the other as male. Boji Stone is believed to be an effective grounding stone, used for protection, and believed to balance the male-female energies and able to clear blocked emotions.

Many have found they reduce pain by holding 1 in each hand. They are said to be; highly protective, grounding, beneficial for plants/crops, reveal negative thought patterns, stimulates energy flow through the energy meridians, aids telepathic communication (between self/plants/animals),  and stabilises emotions.

Boji stones are sometimes mistakenly called and or misrepresented as “Kansas pop rocks” by some gem and mineral collectors. As this is where they first originated. Some claim “Kansas Pop Rocks” are virtually identical to Boji stones in composition, size, and shape.

Toxic, contains some sulphur, pyrite and/or marcasite do not cleanse in water.

Bornite / Peacock Ore

Bornite is also more widely known as Peacock ore, mainly because of its iridescent colours that are akin to the iridescent colours seen on the feathers of Peacocks. 

It is a stone of great joy and happiness, connecting to life force bringing with it freshness and newness to one’s life.  It assists in living in the ‘now’ with joy and happiness.  It teaches an understanding that everything is as it should be and assists in gaining an understanding of one’s life path and seeing the positive in situations.
