Chakras & Crystals

What are Chakras?

Chakras are energy centres across the body and occasionally in close proximity around the auric-field. These energy centres are swirling vortexes of energy. The word chakra is Sanskrit for ‘wheel’.  The knowledge of the chakra system has been passed down through many of thousands of years through ancient Hindu Traditions and scriptures in India. Spreading around the world as the interest and popularity of yoga, meditation and energy healing has increased.

Each energy centre has a different colour and crystals of the same colour can be used to work on that specific energy centre; crown chakra – clear or white, third – eye purple or indigo, throat – blue, heart –  green or pink, solar plexus – yellow, sacral – orange, root – red.

To balance the chakras lay down and place a crystal on each of the chakras or to work on specific energy centres carry the specific stone with you or lay down and place the crystal on that energy centre and allow some minutes to ‘be’ with the energy.  If you are short of time to spend a few minutes lying down with the crystals try a chakra crystal bath.  Run a bath with the chakra stones placed in the water then relax in the bath in the balancing crystal water.

A crystal pendulum can be used to detect which chakra is blocked. Either move the pendulum along the body and ask it to show you the chakra(s) that require work, or ask the pendulum a series of questions or pass it over a chakra layout diagram. If you don’t have a pendulum available or are not comfortable using one then let your intuition guide you to the crystals and the chakras that need balancing.

To unblock a chakra, hold a crystal above the area and rotate anti-clockwise this will also calm, cleanse and soothe an overactive area.  If the chakra requires energising then rotate the crystal in a clockwise direction.
