Fossil Oncohopristis Tooth
Fossil Onchopristis tooth, this is a tooth from an extinct giant swordfish that lived in the oceans during the late Cretaceous period 95 million years ago.
A considerable number of these have been found in Morrocco. These fish had 2.5m long rostrum with sharp and lethal barbs. ts name means giant saw because the giant rostrum resembles a saw.
These would have existed at the same time as Spinosaurus the largest carnivorous dinosaur to exist (which would have been a preditor of this giant swordfish).
approx 4cm
Comes in plastic display case with film layer that holds the tooth in place, it also has a stand that fits at the bottom and a little information card.
